Goodwill Supportive Housing Services

Goodwill has developed a new and exciting service called Supportive Housing Services. These services are an outgrowth of work done with families who have stayed at the Goodwill Inn. The services include housing location services for the homeless and those staying at the Inn, supporting families and individuals with planning, problem solving and referral services for those who have moved out of the Inn. Services also provide support for those that need assistance to maintain housing, and support for individuals and families through personal assistance to maintain daily living in an independent living environment, such as apartment, home or room in a boarding house. The need for these services is great and the outcome of the Supportive Housing Services has proven to be beneficial for those receiving support to maintain independent living.

Cindy Eveleigh, Goodwill's Housing Specialist says "Supportive Housing Services is committed to the persons we serve to promote the well-being of each and everyone. We are there for our clients to promote them to maintain their housing and to promote them to be successful in their goals. These services fit into the state's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness. By providing supports to individuals and families who are living independently and by stopping them from becoming homeless, the program will not only add to the individual or families well being but will also save dollars in the long run for the state and taxpayers alike. Special populations often need these services.
