Grand Traverse County In-Home Assistance for Seniors

The Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging offers the following services designed to help seniors live independently in their homes. Programs include: 

Homemaker Aide: Light housecleaning activities including: dusting, vacuuming, washing dishes, making beds, washing floors, washing laundry, cleaning bathrooms, washing indoor windows. An annual assessment is conducted to monitor client needs.

Home Health Care: Assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, hair care, prescription review, blood pressure checks, observation of health status, oral care, skin care, changing non-sterile dressings, blood sugar checks.

 Home Chore: Yard maintenance activities to include: Lawn mowing, snow removal, fall leaf removal, changing of screens/storms, spring yard clean-up.


Application Process:

To qualify for services, a person must be 60 years of age or older, a resident of Grand Traverse County, and demonstrate a physical need for assistance. Some programs have additional requirements.
